Operation Buddy Check: Detailed Event Description
Operation Buddy Check is a community-driven outreach program designed to ensure our veterans are safe, supported, and connected. Volunteers will be assigned to check in on local veterans through friendly phone calls, video chats, or in-person visits (following all safety guidelines).
Key details include:
Volunteer Training: Prior to the event, volunteers will receive brief training on effective communication, active listening, and safety protocols to ensure respectful and meaningful check-ins.
Guided Outreach: Volunteers will be provided with conversation prompts and guidelines to help discuss topics like well-being, access to services, and any immediate needs the veteran may have.
Community Connection: The initiative fosters stronger community bonds by linking volunteers with veterans, creating a network of care where no veteran feels alone.
